Hi Reader! For me, 2023 was The Year Everything Changed: I was homeschooling four kids (one was in the graduation year!), writing books, speaking at conferences, loving my husband, and caring for my grandmother. My grandma had lived with us since 1999, but in 2022 she had a massive blood clot in her lung and stroke, so the caregiving ratcheted up about 10xs the work. We’d gotten through a lot of the hard adoption stuff, but we still had one adult daughter home, one graduating teen, and three younger ones who would rather poke at each other and ruffle each other’s feathers than try to get along. It was especially hard for the adult daughter, who was still at home and old enough to be accountable according to the law, but whom we were having a difficult time launching. I was spending my days feeling overwhelmed and discouraged, even with the writing and speaking. I had everything I had once dreamed of, but all of it together seemed like more of a burden than a gift. I didn’t know how I was going to keep going, let alone find joy in the middle of it. Have you ever felt this way? Not in control of your own life? Stuck? Worse yet, physical pains were beginning to crop up. My knee hurt so much I was sure I had torn something in it. (I hadn’t.) I was pre-diabetic, and my blood pressure kept going up. I was on a mild antidepressant, and that was not helping. Going through menopause, my hormones were out of whack, and so were my emotions. My size 2X speaking outfits didn’t make me look great, no matter how hard I tried to make them look cute. My feet ached as I stood in my booth and spoke with other homeschooling parents, and I took many naps just to get through the day. I was falling behind on book deadlines because there were just too many ups and downs to concentrate. I knew I needed to take better care of myself to have more energy, but nothing seemed to work. Then, in the course of one prayer, I knew what change I had to make. Within just two months, I had lost twenty-two pounds, gained more energy for daily life, and developed greater focus on my work. I had made such a significant transformation in my body, mind, and spirit that my husband decided to join me and get healthy too. What had changed? When I was praying, a friend’s name popped into my mind. Turns out Amber was a health coach. I’d watched her transformation over the previous years. I’d cheered her on as she’d lost 95lbs. Yet I didn’t think it was possible for me. Besides, even if I got a coach and lost a little weight, that was just the beginning. What about all the other struggles, especially some of my children who had a hard time making good choices? Surely a health coach couldn’t help with that. That’s when I realized I had to start somewhere. Amber’s name had popped into my head for a reason. Maybe that’s where God wanted me to start. I knew that if I wanted to change how I felt and looked, I needed to take action. So I humbled myself and reached out to Amber. She guided me through the steps to begin my health journey. It was easier than I thought. She got me started on a simple plan that was easy to follow. I decided to choose the “all in” route, and the mini-meals were delicious. This plan also included one healthy meal that I cooked, so I started making that for dinner for my whole family. My family liked the meals, and the weight seemed to melt away faster than I thought it could. When people started noticing my weight loss, I told them I’d connect them to Amber. Instead, she encouraged me to coach. I didn’t know who would possibly be interested in having me as a coach, especially when I’d just started my own health journey. Turns out a lot of people. The more I guided people on their health journeys through short Zoom calls, messages, and texts, the more I became committed to my health. As I gave them encouragement, I was cementing the principles in my mind. “You can make positive changes one small habit at a time. Keep going. Five years from now, you’ll be so thankful that you started.” After just a few months …. I earned enough money to buy plane tickets for some family members to travel overseas. I’d earned a free cruise for myself and my husband. I’d seen many friends get healthier. (Some have lost over 100lbs. Others have lost that troublesome 15lbs they couldn’t seem to lose.) I reached my 80-pound weight loss goal in 8 months. In that moment, when I stepped onto the scale and saw the number I’d been striving for, I knew that while getting the weight off had been easier than expected, the rewards went far beyond the weight. I no longer had menopause symptoms.* My doctor had taken me off all my medications. I’d gone down four sizes. And I had better relationships with all my kids. You see, I discovered that my health journey wasn’t just about the weight I lost. I’d learned to manage my emotions better, too. I’d learned how to step out of the drama triangle of hero, villain, and victim that some of my adult kids were always trying to pull me into, and instead to be curious about how I could empower them to help themselves. Turns out that’s what we all needed. I knew if I could make these changes, others could too. And I saw it happening … This health program was one I’d been searching for, on so many levels. Would you like to know the exact steps I took, and have since shared with other clients to help them lose weight and improve their health, even in the midst of their busy and demanding lives? You can pick out a spot to chat with me and one of my co-coaches right here: https://calendly.com/triciagoyer/healthy-habits-discovery-call Why do I have co-coaches? You see, I’m not only helping others lose weight. I’m also training friends to help them reach some of their financial goals. Also, like me, coaching has helped them be more accountable for their own health journeys. Which means in addition to my prayers being answered, theirs have been too. Warmly, Tricia P.S. During the call, I’ll just ask you 4-5 questions to hear your heart and discover your goals. No pressure, no hard sell. I just want to know how you’d feel best supported. My co-coaches and I would love to help. And maybe this could be the year everything changes for you! *Note, while we cannot guarantee any results, I’ve seen positive changes in my clients, time and time again. |

A bedside vigil, a legacy of faith, and a way you can help Dear Reader, The sun hasn’t quite decided what kind of day it wants to be. It streaks Grandma Lita’s bedroom with half‑light. I’m sitting at the side of her bed, coffee gone cold, heart warm, watching her chest rise and fall to the soft hiss of the oxygen machine. Every now and then, she stirs, eyes fluttering, and I wonder if she’s catching a glimpse of the glory that waited just beyond Papa’s Montana window all those years ago. Papa...
